current prayer requests
1. Finances The cost of living here in Perth is on the rise, infact, it is much higher than mid-western America. Our staff fees are increasing due to housing and food costs rising in the city and our little baby will soon add to our family living expenses. Please pray for more monthly partnerships and for God to provide for all of our increased needs. If you would like to give financially or know someone who would like to join our team please see the bottom of this page for more information and contact us via email. Thank you to all of you who have been faithfully and generously giving, we really appreciate it. Bless you!
2. Baby We are very excited for the little bub (as the aussies say) to come in just 5 and 1/2 weeks. The official due date is May 20th. We are so happy to report that health wise things are going great! We also praise the Lord for providing for our mothers to come for the birth! Yeah! Would you join us in praying for the little guy to come on time, as our mothers will only be here for two weeks?! Please also pray for parenting preparation on our part. We know that this will be a new learning experience and our desire to follow the Lord's leads every step of the way, we can hardly wait! Please also pray for the material needs that come along with having a baby, things are expensive here in Perth... join us in trusting for God to add to our monthly financial partnerships and one time gifts. Please also pray for clarity in Sarah's role within the ministry once the baby comes.
3. Current ministry projects Josh is currently working on BELT translators notes. Pray for wisdom as he defines terms in teaching outlines and refines them for ease of future translations. Sarah continues to work on BELT creative communications (new brochures, etc...). One of the biggest projects is coordinating the design of the new BELT website. Pray for wisdom, diligence and completion of these projects before the baby comes. Both of us continue to take part in regular prayer/intercession for issues around the world and also local street evangelism.
4. Future BELT outreaches this year Please join us in praying for God's direction regarding some opportunities on the horizen. First, going back to Uganda to promote the Congo BELT vision in July for a week. Secondly, Jakarta, to do another seminar in November.
South East Asia BELT recap
Overall, our time in this large city of such a precious nation went well. Their were about 25 graduates from the BELT course. Many of the pastors and leaders were challenged to see transformation in their personal lives in order to be more effective in their ministries. For a few pastors, this was their first formal Biblical education and they learned heaps! For a full recap of our time there, please email us and we will be happy to send you a PDF file with more detailed information.
A Pastor's quote below:
“[The BELT Seminar] encouraged me to be exited more in ministry. Fortunately, I minister in slum areas. After teaching their topics, they also involved in the ministry yesterday. They really do what they teach about. At that time all the congregation in the slum area really rejoice and [were] excited because the BELT team visited them. I really appreciate the BELT team to visit the slum community because they [slums] didn’t expect they [BELT Team] wanted to come and visit them. Thank you for teaching us, and you are not only teaching, but you are doing what you teach.” - Tumbur, Volunteer Associate Pastor in Slum

So what do we do?
We are partnering with YWAM Perth, in Western Australia. We will be staffing the Bible School for the Nations (BSN) and the Biblical Education and Leadership Training ministry (BELT).
"The purpose of the BSN is to mobilize Bible trainers who are growing in their ability to effectively disciple nations. The school seeks to cultivate people of godly character who are deepening in their love for God, and who understand His character and how He brings about His purposes in history." (www.ywamperth.org.au/bsn/)
Our responsibilities with the school will consist of teaching the Bible and mentoring the students. We will also continue to learn a lot ourselves and be stretched as we continue to study the lessons we'll be teaching. Sarah will also be involved with media projects for the school and also for the BELT ministry.
The BELT (Biblical Eduation and Leadership Training) ministry is partnered with the Bible School, and we will be actively involved in this as well. This is the same outreach ministry that we participated with in Papua New Guinea.
The purpose of BELT is to see people groups transformed by the Word of God through empowering community and church leaders who have limited access to Biblical training.
Please see the 'related links' link above and to the right.
Sarah is part of the leadership team for the media department with YWAM Perth. She teaches on the BSN occasionally, and participates in BELT seminars, but her main focus, besides caring for Noah, is media. Medias vision is to serve the many ministries and schools of YWAM Perth. There is consistent need for printed, web and video tools to help further the Kingdom of God! Sarah is responsible for helping give feedback on the many projects that the staff are working on, as well as doing projects her self and teaching the staff from time to time. She really hopes to see Media grow and reach the many visions that God has spoken over the media ministry with YWAM Perth.

be a partner through devoted prayer
Remember when King Hezekiah prayed and God answered him, granting him 15 more years to his life (Is.38:4-6)? We remember the disciples, 'continually devoted to prayer' in Acts1:13-15. The Bible tells us to pray and present our requests to the Father.
The truth is, God hears our prayers and he does respond according to his infinite wisdom. Over the past year, it's been so evident how the Lord has answered the many prayers of our partner's in ministry. At times we've really had to 'press in' and wait on Him, but He is always faithful.
You can play and active role in this ministry by joining our devoted prayer team and seeing nations transformed. Please contact us and we'd be happy to add you to our mailing list!

become a financial partner
All of our monthly fiancial needs with YWAM are met by faith based support. YWAM does not pay us to work. Our work is technically volunteer. When we left our well paying corporate jobs over a year ago, the Lord took care of us through the cheerful giving of individuals and the church. We have faith that God will continue to provide all of our needs. He is faithful.
We are currently trusting for continued montly and quarterly partnerships (individuals and churches) to help us reach our montly budget (50% of our budget goes towards outreach field costs). If you would like to be involved please contact us. A list of our detailed budget is available upon request.
Thank you for your faithful, continued partnerships.
God Bless you as you work along side of us.
